The 'Missing Middle' is a rising concern for Vancouver as population density climbs and many single-family houses become multi-generation households to reduce the cost of living. Revisiting the Vancouver Special typology, the project examines the potential of a genuine multi-generation home.
Overview
The design centres on open dialogue and transition between public and private space, encouraging the family to do things together while each member keeps a measure of individual privacy.
